Adelaide in Chinese!
Loved the country, the air, the house, the company, the weather (okay second week)!
1st week’s temperate was an average of 40deg, like zomggggggxcsdfmsdf. Once in a 100 years heatwave. Howwww very lucky. But second week was good! Average of 20 deg in the day and at night it dropped to almost 12deg. Shiok like hell.
Okay now warning ah, this whole entry is about the whole trip for my own references. So DONT READ ON if you’re not interested and DONT LAMENT that it’s a long entry if it turns out to be.
day 1: Reached Adelaide in the morning! Hugged auntie sue, waited for uncle adrian, headed back home! Played with the doggies(: hehehehe. Off to the city for Scootzi pizza, Fasta Pasta at night with uncle bradley and company where we got introduced and HOOKED to LemonLimeBitters (better know as LLB), then to the beach for some cool air.
day2: To Pho shop for some Pho!, then to Arndale for first round grocery shopping. Home-cooked dinner by US! Success! Hehehe. Candlelight dinner(:
day3: To Flinders Uni where my aunt teaches, slept in the library waiting for the time in singapore to release results. YAY. Did reasonably well, I guess. Tried the EXPENSIVE CAFE FOOD which really sucked like crap. To the city for some subway lunch before heading to the pub to meet up with auntie sue’s fellow teachers, naurelle (damn nice right her name) amy and er, some guy whose name slipped me. THEIR DRINKS ARE DIRT CHEAP, REALLY. A shot of baileys for like, 3.50 aussie dollars?!?!?!? What in the world. And their pubs open from 10am onwards, till late and people just drink booze like water. Dinner was Fish and Chips at Grange, which was goddamn good i thought.
day4: Lazed around with chips and dvd before heading to Victor’s Harbor for a penguins’ tour! Hehe managed to see some cute little ones in their nests and our tour guide was quite funny (lame). LOL.
day5: WE WERE EXCITED BECAUSE THE HEATWAVE WILL END IN 2 DAYS. yaaaaaaay. So off to the hills we went! German cuisine for lunch. Chocolate factory for candies! Cheese factory for erm, nothing. Smelly blue cheese, HATE IT.
day6: ONE MORE DAY TO 20deg! So we headed to the mall, picked up dvds more chips, went home and played games all night long.
day7: 20+ DEGREES = END OF HEATWAVE! TO THE CITY FOR REAL SHOPPING IN COOL AIR!!!!! Supre was bloody good.
day8: Glenelg Beach Town for HAVAIS SPREE. 3 pairs each in total at the end of the trip =P Nice place, really. There was the Volleyball er, Nationals? Internationals? The tall world. Tsk.
day9: Slack day. Morning was Harvey Park with the dogs, lotsa photos there (: Nice place, except it’s situated right beside/behind a cemetry?! Arndale once more, and then we cooked steak for dinner!
day10: Cleland Wildlife Park! Wallabies kangaroos emus all in the wild. Gawwwd. So cute. and Koalas! Lazy pigs sleeping all day long ): kwalaaaa the best. Then popped by Mount Lofty for the best view of Adelaide (: Really was pretty and very very cold.
day11: KAYAKING at Dolphin Sanctuary. Beautiful waters, very salty though. 100x saltier than kallang? hahaha and only we got to see the school of 7 dolphins. Gawd they came so close, we could just reach out and touch them. Holy crap cute creatures. And their EEEE sounds. ahhhhhhh. so cute!!!!! Then back home for some bbq dinner. Okay, the guys did the bbq-ing. Auntie sue and i kinda rotted around =P
day12: To my uncle’s farm! Whao it’s 200km away and the farm is really humongous okay. 1000++ sheep roaming around and lots of crops. So we went to an emptier paddock and learnt driving! Wheeee drove around, got out of the paddock, and jh drove us all back safely to the main house =D hehehehe. Visisted some coal mining areas. Eh not very interesting for me lah but yah, see see lor.
day13: Buffet at Watermarx (Spell?) which is in Glenelg. Saw the China Nat Team for Volleyball. Bloody tall freaks, instilled some inferiority complex in me. Tskkkkk. Then to HarbourTown, where i got some nice stuff!
day14: Last minute city shopping!!!! Seeing everything for the last time. Sigh. Scootzi for the last meal in the city (: Nice ending. Dinner was at O.G Pub. Cool shit, they have a salad bar buffet style and it’s really pretty good! I think my tummy was filled by the cheesed cauliflowers rather than the 2 barterfish i had. Hahaha.
day15: Last day. Last meal at Pho Than dint work out cos it wasnt opened yet. So off to another Viet restaurant which wasnt as good but we all had to make do. Off to the airport. Sigh. ):
_____________
It’s been a fantabulous two weeks. I had the blast of my life, even just lazing around playing board games, making white chip mac nut cookies and cooking random stuff! and jh’s really been a dear for indulging me in all my cravings for bong-bo-hue. (: And you make awesome LLB bytheway. It’s weird, like you’ve said, going to sleep where I am now, because you’re not beside me, because we dont take our usual walk in the yard, just watching the stars before we sleep, with the window beside us. It’s just different now, and it makes me more than ever want to go back to the two weeks we had. Those memories I will keep close to my heart and they’ll stay for a long long time. My first trip overseas without family, and with you baby, it could never be better. Seeing you, living with you, sleeping beside you, brushing teeth with you, walking the dogs, running with them on the beaches, everything baby, 24/7 for 2 weeks is not enough. But for now, it’ll do (:
And my aunt and uncle, for being the bestest hosts ever.
My aunt, for everything. It makes me tear still, right now when i type, as i think of the last hug at the airport. All the plotting scheming planning to make this work, and now it’s over. But it was good, really good. Never before has a trip affected me the way it did this time, and in such a positive way.
I love you guys so much. Really so so much.
Photos a lotttttt. Nextentry.
I can’t help but still reel in the two weeks I’ve just had.
