Bel in Beautiful Freezing Berlin.

That of course, only applies to me. Everyone else seems to feel 12 degs is normal.
NO IT ISN’T IT IS BLOOOODYYY COLD.

_______________

Entry is going to be long, picture-less and probably only to my own understanding.
don’t say i didn’t warn y’all.

It’s been a hectic week since the actual conference has begun.
Arrivals was in huge bulks from early morning till late.
Preparing all the departure notices was a nightmare.
Skipped most of my meals in the last 3 days, which is really an amazing feat for me. Funny enough, I don’t feel THAT hungry.

Security level is way too high. Even higher than summit conferences and all. Crazy shit.

Still cold, and bad weather is hailing from the Hague and has hit us yesterday, what with howling thunderstorms and even colder wind. Outside temp is supposedly higher.. ytd highest was 30 but it felt like 13. Expecting 20 plus today but currently 17. Kill me, someone.

Have been feeding constantly on chocolates. Growing fatter ):
Can’t wait for Fri and Sat to come so we can go out and have some fun! (if there isn’t much to pack, that is!!)

The Berlin wall grounds were amazing. With lots of history of every monument. Managed to wake up at 5am on some mornings to go for gym and jog and once, I ran and found my way to the Memorial Church which is a UNESCO site and it was amazing seeing it. Didn’t bring my camera along though, so I figured I could run this morning except.. I slept through 4 alarms and only woke up cos I asked front desk to give me a morning call. HAHA.

So now, I’m back at my badging/registration/hospitality helpdesk and watching the crowds go by (what crowd??? whole hotel almost booked by us)..
& just wondering in amazement,

how beautiful Berlin is.
I can make do with the coldness in exchange for such fresh air, huge portions of food and friendly people.

I’m officially known as “the little one” at the front desk ahahhaha. No name leh, so sad. But they’re crazily nice people.
For example,

me: hello, yknow everyday you guys clean up the room and place 2 chocs on the bed? can i have milk chocs instead of dark ones please?
pretty frontdesk girl: *looks in confusion cos her engrish not good* you want more chocs? no problem!!
me: no no, can i just switch to those chocs under 50% (cos chocs here go by percentage), if it’s not too troublesome? if it is, it’s alright.
pretty frontdesk girl: NO WORRIES!! NOW I DO IT!!!

That was say, 10am in the morning.
At about 3pm, I went up to get some stuff and..

VIOLA! I saw a whole bowl of at least over 20 pieces of 34%, 38% and 43% chocolates on my working desk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D
Chocolates are cheap here! HEHEHE

Another example:

At 6pm, still sitting at the desk, feeling a little weary from the long day, the security head saw me yawning and walked over.

old man: little one, you look so tired!
me: yes, long day!
old man: let me tell you a secret. we’re going to do a 1 min lockdown for all doors. but nobody else knows!! so just watch their expressions (i.e. the 2 security guards at the lobby)

2 mins later, all doors stopped spinning and working and it was freaking hilarious cos the 2 guards here went like, WAD HAPPENED OMG and they started panicking and walkie-talkie-ing the whole world only to realize their power on the walkies have been switched off too haahahahha.

I’ve picked up a couple of german lines too!!!!

Guten morgen! Ich haisse Christabel, ich komme aus Singapore!

WAHSEH I can speak that fluently lor now!!!! HAHAHA so proud of myself.

Shall go learn a couple of lines from steffi now!!!

byeeeeeeee

ich liebe dich.
(i think it’s spelt like that.. i love you)
